The Return of Friends

For a while now, it seems to be a period of friends getting back in contact, so i would like to post a few shots which remind me of their presence in my life. While the shots are not of my friends, they are some of the bands we listened to at the time.

If a friend has being absent from your company for a while, maybe its time to say hi.

I hope you have a great week & a big HI to all my friends.

Murphy's Law

The Hooded One

While i was out walking, i was noticed by hooded crows, who thought a closer look was called for..
In Ireland they would be more commonly known as scald crows.

Also a rook.

Feeling A Bit Waspish

When the food started to get scarce, i left out an apple for the wasps, i was rewarded with plenty turning up to get their portrait taken. despite their reputation i found them very calm, often checking me out, landing on me. I didn't get stung once.

Travels

A few shots from my trip around Ireland & i will be the first to admit that i am not much of a landscape photographer as the images will attest to.

I found most to be very friendly, but some ignored me

& one waved a stick at me when i took his photo.

These areas of limestone pavement were handy for parking the little zuki, when near the road

every sign but the one i needed.

thank you for visiting.

Shroom

A mushroom i noticed on my walk, i am not sure what type of mushroom it is, i just loved the way the grass seemed to caress it.

Thank you for visiting.

A Bugs Life

While most of us might not like to acknowledge it, insects & invertebrates are all around us. The sheer range of size, hue & shape makes them so interesting to me. I have to admit that even with this curiosity i overlooked them as subjects to capture with my camera, much to the relief of some my friends.

A pair of large White butterflies  Pieris brassicae
Looking on line showed the folly of this & was inspired by some of the shots which put me to shame.

Moorland or Common Hawker      Aeshna juncea
Moorland Hawker

They can be quite difficult to capture, watching dragonflies swoop with the agility close to that of birds was very disheartening as i walked along the woodland edge, i was certain i would not be shooting any of them. however i had duties in the area & on one of the many trips through this area one of them helped out by landing behind me.

A Meadow Brown    Maniola jurtina

Large White

There was many butterflies on this path too.

Common Green Grasshopper     Omocestus virdulus

I found grasshopper's in the fields where my journeys ended.

These horses were the reason for my travels, i was looking after them while their owners were on holidays.

Thank you for visiting,

Straw in the Wind

Finally i have got around to working on the shots from the scarecrow festival.

For some it was a rough night.

Durrow we have a problem.
River dancing your way through life.

We all feel like this sometimes

It was bound to happen sooner or later

Batman kicking the stuffing out of another criminal?

Fifty shades of (gray) hay

Some were a little cheeky.

Keeping an ear to the ground.

Not a crow was seen,

I hope everyone is having a good week.
